Mauritian bazaar

Bazaar in Port Louis

The largest bazaar of Mauritius , the Central Market of Port Louis , in the heart of the capital. It is divided into two parts, one for textiles and objects ( many gifts , pareos, memories … ) and one for fresh food (fruit, vegetables, fish). A good place to buy “made in mauritius ” products and try the local food.

Every day, half-day Saturday, closed Sunday

Fair in Quatre Bornes
Here it is not a bazaar with food but a ” fair “, a flee market specialized in textiles and clothing. You can find T -shirts ( nice memories !) , fabrics sold by the meter , suits , casual wear …. Centrally located in Quatre Bornes, rue Saint -Jean, the market is very popular with tourists and Mauritian .

Thursdays and Sundays

Mahebourg Fair
Mahebourg market is a single market every Monday , the area around the waterfront Mahebourg turns into a huge open air market . There are many good business : local crafts , souvenirs and a ” food ” section with many Creole dishes and specialties of Mauritius ( Biryani , Dholl Puri, noodles … )

Monday only.

Grand Baie Bazaar
This one we do not recommend it at all. Created just for tourists, who are the only ones to attend this place . Moreover , there is not much there .
