The electoral campaign ends in Mauritius, where are held tomorrow, Wednesday 10 December parliamentary elections. These early elections are dominated by two political blocs : first, the Alliance of unity and modernity led by outgoing Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, and secondly Lepep Alliance (the Alliance of the People ) whose leader is Sir Anerood Jugnauth, former Prime Minister and President, who is back in the ring at the age of 84.
Although 73 parties registered to tenth legislative elections, including the very funny “Parti Malin” the two political blocs have dominated the election campaign. Over 930,000 Mauritian voters will be asked to choose between these two camps. Foreign observers from various international organizations monitor multiple aspects of the campaign, both political gatherings or formal procedures. Results on thursday !
